About Vlašić

Vlašić is a mountain range having an important role in the tourist offer of this area thanks to the richness of its woods, pastures and numerous springs.
The highest peak Paljenik reaches 1,943 metres. This mountain beauty is situated at the very heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was recognized as an extraordinary tourist centre even during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The area of Devečani (1760m) and peak “Galice” present an attractive goal for hikers and have got well-marked hiking trails.

At Babanovac (1260m) there is a famous centre for winter sports, with 5 ski lifts, and a 15 km ski walking trail. On the 90 metre ski jump ramp, a European Cup “Pokal Vlašić” has been held 13 times with competitors from 10 European countries, Japan and the USA.
The Cup was well visited which is confirmed by a record of up to 120,000 spectators.
